Lauren Stewart joins the Toro family for the 2018-2019 season as head coach.
Coach Stewart served as an assistant hitting and outfield coach at Saraland High School (6A) (2016-2017). She most recently served as head volleyball and softball coach at Excel High School (3A) (2017-2018) where she lead the Panthers to a 31-13 record, top 10 recognition, and a Regional appearance.
Stewart is a graduate of Chilton County High School (2012), Southern Union State Community College (2014 NJCAA All-American), and Spring Hill College (2016). While competing at Southern Union, Stewart brought home the ACCC Championship and placed fourth in the nation for NJCAA. During her time at Spring Hill (NCAA, DII), the Badgers went undefeated in the SIAC Conference for two years in a row. She most recently competed in the inaugural American Softball Association (ASBA) professional summer league with team OutKast, drafted as the 69th overall pick, taking home first place.
Coach Stewart teaches 9th grade world history and is currently enrolled at the University of West Alabama completing a Master of Arts in Teaching--History.
Emma graduated from Theodore High School in 2015. She went on to play softball at Coastal Alabama Community College as a middle infielder and graduated in 2017. Dunn is currently attending the University of South Alabama pursuing an Elementary Education degree and will complete her student teaching in the Spring of 2019.
Hunt graduated from the University of West Alabama in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. While at UWA, she played primarily 1st base and led the Tigers with a career batting average of .424. Hunt received 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee and First-Team All-American. She was also awarded Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll (2009-2014), GSC Top Ten (2013 and 2014), and GSC Top 15 in Batting Averages Division II.
After college, Hunt moved back to Baldwin County and lives in Spanish Fort, AL with her husband (Keith) and daughter (Emmy). A native of Baldwin County, she attended Robertsdale High School where she lettered in volleyball, basketball, softball, and golf. She was an All-State Athlete in both volleyball and softball.
Coach Hunt began her coaching career as Varsity Volleyball Coach at Foley High School (2014) and Assistant Softball Coach at Robertsdale High School (2014); she joined the Toros and has served as SFMS Cross Country (2016 & 2017), Girls Basketball (2016), and Girls Soccer (2016 & 2017).
Coach Hunt is a 6th grade Social Studies teacher at Spanish Fort Middle School.
